yes jungleju i'd love to have winters like canada, it gets cold here, admittedly not that cold but pretty cold but we never get any friggin snow especially in the south west

because were in a crappy part of the earth where all are seasons collide into just rain, cloud and cold

We have this wonderful thing called the Gulf Stream that pulls warmer air from the near the Equator. what this means is that despite us being at the same latitude as Moscow we get nothing like the severe weather.
Just think what it is like when we get cold wind from the North and just how much colder it gets. If it wasn't for the Gulf Stream it would be like that EVERY Winter

I KNEW there had to be a reason for British colonization of the Americas! I lived in Seattle for a while and learned that fog and drizzle can drive people to desperate acts!

The Gulf Stream.
One pessimistic global warming scenario is that it will be diverted south by polar ice melt, so not only will we be flooded by melted ice water; but we'll get Siberian winters too.
It's a worst case scenario; but the silver lining will be regular white Christmases.

assuming you're from england...
america is just bigger. that means we have a wide variety of climates, cold and warm. england is small and moderated by the ocean since the entire country is near a coast
