Air Mattress..............buy one at one of the Superstores and put that on a platform.
Or buy a memory foam topped airmattress(really great).
I have used for years...and the support can not be beat. It is hard to sleep on a regular mattress.....reg mattresses make my back sore.

Go pillowtop.
Air mattresses will eventually spring a leak.. probably sooner than later.
I have not tried memory foam, but it seems like it would be a bit too squishy for me.

I have just recently brought a pillow top mattress and it has been the best thing I have brought in a long time. I also brought a latex pillow..it cost $85 but again, it was worth it. You definately have to have the right support while sleeping. I haven't woken up with sore shoulders or back since I did the swap...great investment!

I personally have a memory foam mattress topper and I LOVE it. I couldn't afford the really expensive ones, but the one I found is GREAT! You just sink into it and it enfolds your body so nicely.

I tried the memory foam and I felt like I was mired in mud.
