In a true memory the events happened not necessarily in a prescribed or ordered manner but the way you saw them, felt it perhaps in color and with smell, a memory is also a shared event even if you remembered it different from someone else. In a fantasy you do not have this assortment of sensory data. A fantasy is a creative myth if you will something to engage in in private away from judgment with a our own embellishments.

Fantasy is now - memory is the past.

Where it gets complicated is when your mind mixes up memory and fantasy so the fantasy thinks it's pulling memories and reacts to them, then writes them back as memories. Pottentially not good.

This is a good question for the, 'an alien probed me' people. I suspect that there is no difference to them. Or Republicans too. They seem to be having trouble distinguishing facts from fancy.

fantasy is something people don't do in real life.

memory is something people had done and remember it.
