hey, im a redsox fan, but i am not cutting Papelbon any slack. the 2007 world series ball is just as important as the 2004 world series ball. idc how good papelbon is, im furious. and why did 'tek give it to him? give it to someone who deserves it! sure papelbon didnt allow a run the whole postseason, but the front office, theo, terry or just the team in general should get it. if doug mientkiewicz did this with the 2004 bball, he'd be as bad as bill buckner. do you think papelbon will lose any respect because of this? i think he should.

I can't believe Papelbon's dog ate the world series ball.
He lost my respect.... how could a person do that!

I would have had the ball in a case instead of out on the kitchen table

Papelbon is much smarter than Doug Mientkiewicz. He has ended all talk about the World Series baseball and if true has made his dog very happy.Of course, if this is the last series the Red Sox win for the next 88 years the dog will become famous in baseball history. Do you think the dog might have been on steroids?

If the Red Sox really cared who had the ball, Jonathan Papelbon wouldn't have had it! So he had it, and he claims his dog chewed it up. He could be making it up, or he could be telling the truth. I'm not going to be losing any sleep over it, though!

it's not like he killed anyone.
it's a ball and that's nothing to lose respect over
didn't the sox win 3 years ago? so it's not as important as the 2004 one IMO
so i still like the guy although i'm faaaaarrrrr from being a red sox fan
