i have the typical wireless linksys router. wrtg45g you all know it its purple and black and has the two antennas. its nothing special. ive done the power cycling and still cant get it going. so far ive disconnected everything, then hooked up the modem, then powered up the router and hooked it into the router, then powered up the computer. am i doing it right

yea you did however most times you need to contact third party equipment manufac. they would be able to assits you better, there are certain things that you need to establish a connection that only linksys and your provider can give you. you need the number to linksys Phone: (800) 326-7114 or

Try hooking up to the router with an Ethernet cable. See if you can connect too the Internet through the cable.
Then get the manual and follow the instructions for setting up the router.
You have to be hardwired to set it up

I don't know. What's the documentation say? And are you having a problem? Have you talked to Linksys Tech Support. They're pretty good, you know. Even have shortcuts to get you going fast. The folks at Cisco have it together.
