All of the popular Animes like Naruto, etc. have every few girls and the girls aren't as strong as the guys or have lame powers and they aren't 3-D. They don't fight dirty like the guys.....The only one who can really beat all the guys on Naruto is Lady Tsunade.

Tenjho Tenge is like porn to me.....all they show is clevege and breasts. it's degrading.........it has a lot of good action and gore

Cause the submissive, over-sympathetic, 'weak' female in need of male protection is a very popular character in Asia media. Before I get thumbs-down for this, just watch the majority of Asian TV shows, movies, or music videos.

I prefer to see anime females who can kick some major butt without using any kind of silly a$$ powers. I find that cheating. That does not show me their fighting techniques and battle skills in my opinion.
I do agree with Moo's statement above. I tend to not watch JDramas because of the way women are portrayed. BUT, I do hope that the minds of producers will change in asia. I think it is but it is a slow process!

i agree with you!! i hate those female characters who whine and cry ALL THE DARN TIME and cling to guys like omg!!!
i HATE IT!!!
thats why i really aim for action type anime where the guy is the main character or the female is strong... emotionally and physically.
i guess that its really popular in japan... but i definietly dont like it. if a female character is the type to cry every 10 secs and is always clingy and "love desperate" i just CANT watch the anime!! sigh.... or i force myself too.
now, girls like real mayer, kumiko, kikyo (kinda..), naru narusegawa, arisa uotani, motoko kusanagi...etc.... are the types i like. ^^ evenif they are not physically strong, they can be emotionally and mentally.
really... its depressing and boring to watch girls like that. like misori chitose from "green green" and risa from dn angel where they go all goo goo and obsessed for the guy and cry for small things... thats soooo annoying!!
i know ill probably get some thumbs down for this.... but its true. i watch alot of anime.... but i can honestly say that there has never once been an anime where the girl is a crybaby and i have loved her.... let alobe liked her...

Yes, I agree with you, there is no gender equality in some anime...lol but try watching these anime... It may change your mind
Shakugan no Shana-Shana is a very brave, hard headed, and strong girl in here... while Yuji is the vice versa but he's brave with no powers...
