No, one should never try to change them self in order to be what someone else wants one to be. Be yourself, always. If that isn't good enough for the other person, so be it. That's their problem. As for trying to change someone else, don't even try it. Can't be done. If that other person isn't what you are looking for, find someone else. That is your problem. They are what they are. Take it or leave it.

It is never a success to change yourself for another. If change is to take place it must be by you for you. You will never have success changing another person for your own benefit. Accept them as they are or find someone more suited to your ideals.

The only person you can change is yourself.
But you can make suggestions.
Trouble is men forget the suggestions 2 days later.
