that a very vague question, there are lots of theories to how the mind works.

look up functionalism, structuralism, behaviorism, gestalt, psychoanalysis and the humanistic theories.

how are you suppose to answer that question, it could go on forever

It is very complex -- far too much so to even begin to try to address here -- and many details are not yet known. I'll offer one tidbit: the signals from the left and right eyes are combined in a programmable logic array called the visual cortex at the back of the head. Instead of blowing fuses, the programming (which happens in the first few months of life) blows away surplus neurons.
