"A present from Aunt Maude" - Years ago, my wife's Aunt Maude sent her brillo scouring pads for a Christmas present.

So, when we get lousily weird presents, especially from out-of-state, we snicker to each other "A present from Aunt Maude".

"How nice....how nice..."

From the old joke about what the southern belle learned at charm school----how to wave her fan and say, "How nice...how nice....", instead of "Oh sh!t!"
