For a very long time i could never vent out my anger so i had to ignore it. But then i found out for me, pacing back and forth letting the anger out with every step. And (people think i'm crazy when i do this but it helps) i talk while pacing like i yell at the people that i'm pissed at like as if they were there (but not really yell). I used to write or punch walls but that never helped.

Blogging and Y!A really helps me, even if I don't talk about whats bothering me. If I need to talk about it I usually call a good friend I trust and vent till I feel better. Sometimes I react with out thinking and it usually gets me in trouble :(

i think to myself.
i feel angry. how does it feel. how does it feel in my body.
i'm angry because my need for _____ isn't met
(it might be respect or ease or competence or other things)
and instead of blaming others i realize that the anger is mine and tells me important things about my values. i treasure all my feelings, including anger. take responsibility for my own feelings (ie no one else makes me angry, i get angry because of things inside me, how i respond to what others do)

I normally go really quiet and try to find somewhere I can go to sort my **** out and gather my thoughts...stew on them for a little and then work out the best way to deal with the situation.

I lick my kneecaps and grit my teeth at the same time. Not really, since it's physically impossible ---but I try to remember that and somehow it makes me feel goofy and I'm not quite as mad anymore.

I used to throw things and punch things. But with age and wisdom I just calm down and think about what's going on.
