There are several reasons for this. There is no way that al Qaida could lay claim to their attacks if performed in this way. Forest fires often occur naturally and al Qaida would not be taken as seriously in their claims for this as they would for something exploding in a major city.

Secondly, this would not disable the United States. They mean to disable the United States economically and setting forest fires would not do so. The fires would be extinguished before they reached any major cities. If they even did make it to a major city, the fires would do relatively little damage, due to the lack of flammable objects in a city. In the forest, there is a blanket of dry underbrush along the ground. In the city, there is cement and asphalt, not very flammable. The fire would have more difficulty spreading from building to building as it would tree to tree.

Thirdly, this is very complicated. The fire could go anywhere and destroy anything. Al Qaida has just as much chance of destroying a few acres of unpopulted woods as it does of displacing hundreds of people.

Finally, and probably most importantly, this would not scare people. Since forest fires occur naturally, people will see it as a risk factor, not something to fear. Forest fires can't "just happen" whereas a plane crashing into a building can be done at any time and anywhere, not just in the summer in the woods.

In short, setting forest fires would be too complicated, less destructive (in terms of human loss), less noticed, and less likely to be blamed on Al Qaida to be a plausible idea.

This morning on Fox News, hosts of the show Fox and Friends blamed the wildfires in California on a new culprit: al Qaeda. They pointed to a 2003 FBI memo, which raised the possibility that al Qaeda may try to set wildfires around the western United States. They also noted that men in a “hovering helicopter” saw “a guy starting one of these fires.”

So you see it's already happened if you believe in Fox news , here's the link along with video - http://thinkprogress.org/2007/10/24/fox-news-al-qaeda-is-causing-the-ca-wildires/

All they have to do is throw a bicycle into one of the major transformer areas and watch a major city go black! In the areas with a drought all it would take is one match in the dry grass and the whole area is in flames instantly! Or one of those port areas with the natural gas or propane ships coming in would make excellent targets for just one well placed bullet! A five gallon pail of waste oil dumped over the side of an overpass when a tanker truck loaded with gas is about to pass will disrupt a major highway for a week! It's unbelievably easy to cause major death and destruction. What's so incredibly difficult to do is to stop it!

I don't imagine that terrorists are intelligent individuals for one thing. Richard Reid didn't seem to be too intelligent, so my guess would be that it's because they either A) didn't think of it, or more likely B), it wouldn't actually cause any panic. Terrorist attacks are designed to instill terror and that's what kills most of the people around, generally speaking. People in the 9/11 WTC towers, for example: had many of them not panicked, more would have made it out alive.

Because they don't want God to claim credit for it.
They only want to rough up "The young one" living in misery with total loss of IQ and self lack of knowledge.
With the cheap-skate glory in self destruction of someone else little children with all the cheap-skates ghostly stories of failures and horrors of the past as success for themselves.
Look in the real world.
When the eye-specialist were suppose to give sights to those who were blind for the good of mankind.
Look at the cheap-skate glory of ghostly stories in messing up all "The young one" when he took our creator's universal gifts of life to be an eye-specialist.
Were not giving those gifts to all "The young one" out there.
But keeping the gifts of life all for himself in kicking them on their butts with their self lack of knowledge living in misery with their loss of IQ.
Luke 9.55-56
What do you think?
