can they sting a person like me,can a venomous animal kill me

It is not venomous but its spines can hurt you. Clarius batrachus has spines and they stung me while I was picking them up in the paddy field during rainy season.

Yes venemous animals can kill you, but a catfish cannot. They do have spines on them which have poison, but it is more to prevent other fish from eating them, and not strong enough to seriously harm a person. It does sting though.

I hope catfish isn't venomous because we catch them in our lakes and rivers and eat them?

No, but they can look ominous at 500-800 lbs.
A diver went down to inspect a dam in Austin, TX.
That's what he encountered, and it just hovered around him.
He refused to go back down.
