We aren't exchanging gifts. Only to the great grandchildren. We have some decorations up. Just does not feel like Christmas. Maybe because someone in Washington has taken away the Christmas spirit. Have a Merry Christmas, Shari.

This year we are not exchanging any gifts within the family. It's a bittersweet Christmas. I had a difficult time just getting a few decorations up and it's really hard to get into the holiday spirit. Maybe the hot buttered rum on Christmas Eve will help all of us get into the spirit. lol

Oh yes I decorated, found items i have forgotten about. We do not exchange gifts but buy things during the year for one another. Both of us are really good at showing ads in the newspaper when we see an item we would like.

I am single, but I put up a tree, decorated, bought some poinsettas and will enjoy the spirit of the season. Last year I was in a hotel room alone on assignment for Red Cross, so this is WONDERFUL! I ate sandwiches that I purchased at the CVS store, every night for dinner for 6 weeks.

My fiance & I made a promise to each other just this year, not to buy each other Christmas gifts this year, as we just bought a Sony Bravia High Definition tv, & thats' our Christmas gift to each other. The tree is up & I have put up a few Christmas decorations put up inside & out.

When we first married we were very very very poor - and we made a pact then. No presents - except a promise that had to be kept all year long.

Many many years later - we still keep to that pact.

I am very proud to say that my husband has NEVER bought me a Christmas present in all the years that we have been married - but he has made and KEPT some very very wonderful promises over those years!

And I remember each and every single one!

We exchange with the kids, grandkids, and parents, but not with each other.

We have always bought what we wanted and could afford when we wanted it. Never waited until Christmas. So hubby and I don't exchange.

No decorations, but we did buy ourselves a boat.
We usually treat ourselves to something we both can enjoy.

Example: I get a new pair of knee pads every year and slippers. hahahahahaha

No... nothing this year! For several reasons, most of them medical. Just don't have the strength to do it at this time! My little Grandson was so upset he offered to send me his little tree that his Mom put in his bedroom for him... isn't that just to sweet! He is just 4...
