There's a song in Verde's La Traviata, when sung by the right diva, brings tears to my eyes. Wish I could remember the song's name.
Yesterday, by the Beatles made me cry. It hit the charts the same time my girlfriend's parents drug her off to Texas to live, 1965. We were 10 years old! lol
According to the Guinness Book of Records, Yesterday has the most cover versions of any song ever written. In 2004 it placed 13th in Rolling Stones Magazine's 500 All Time Greatest Hit's Collection.
That's it for me in the wet and weepy catagory.
Edit: For "nowyouknow" Cat's in the Cradle is by Harry Chapin. Great song, excellent writer.
