John McCain for the Republicans many dems wanted Kerry to pick him as his running mate. Ron Paul also would have great appeal because of his opposition to the Iraq war. Biden for the GOP first of all he's white, has a son in Iraq and has strong foreign policy experience. Edwards would appeal to many blue collar republicans with union ties that have ben voting republican since Reagan. Obama for a few that could get beyond the name and his race.

Sen. Obama is getting good press everywhere he goes -- check the headlines from Iowa, for instance. So he may be able to gather up a lot of disaffected Republican voters. Hey, it's impressive that he's actually got the Democrats listening to him!
On the other side, Rep. Paul has his appeal, certainly; but he also comes with certain drawbacks which I suspect will make many Democratic voters think more than twice about casting their ballots for him. (And despite his fund-raising success, it still seems unlikely that he'll get the GOP nomination anyway.)

I think Obama will take many Republicans from the GOP this upcoming election. People are desperate for positive change and Obama is one of the few candidates we can trust to deliver.
Americans have grown tired of divisive and partisan politics, we want a leader for the whole country and not just a leader for the red or blue states. Obama believes in a united country all aspiring towards the same goals. The Republican candidates have virtually no chance at taking any of the Democratic states, in order to win the Republican nomination you have to be near radical. They all spend so much time courting religious voters that it turns most secularist independents and democrats off. The Republicans are also all basically following the failed policies of the Bush Administration, which 60%+ Americans are sick and tired of.

I believe Ron Paul's message of liberty and returning to the Constitution is bringing out the most voters from both sides of the party lines. Some Democrats like him for his stance on the war, some conservatives like his stance on getting government out their pocketbooks and a lot of people on both sides like the fact that he is willing to cut back the size of government all around.

Ron Paul. Enough people are sick of the wars. How he could lose is beyond me.
