Although they may run the table in the regular season, if they then went to lose in the playoffs the season would be considered a large failure.
This is why none of the Patriots acknowledge the signifigance of a unbeaten season, as a team they have goals that go far beyond a "perfect" regular season, once the playoffs start everyone is back to being 0-0.
I think it is fair to say they have beaten the tough teams this season,(Colts, Cowboys,Steelers, Chargers) and now are left with the worst team in the NFL and a team who either looks pretty good or very bad in the Giants.

Of course they are, they dominated the Steelers and then they showed that they could and would run the ball in rough weather situations, not to mention they have the best strategic coach in the NFL.
They have the 1-13 Dolphins and then the unconsistent 9-6 Giants, no way either of these teams will beat them unless Brady breaks something (except records). Eli Manning is very inconsistent and won't get the job done.
In the playoffs they will which ever team they face in the 1st round and then have to beat the Colts. Theya re more motivated and more prepared for the Colts, and now they actually have good receivers, plus the Colts lost Freeney and no one knows if Harrison can play.
** The thing I find scary is if Brady had these kinds of receivers all along he would already be approaching Marino's/Farve's records.

do you follow football? you dont have to say the dolphins are having abad season that is probably among the worst 3 seasons ever. the giants are not having a bad season they are going to the playoffs and are 9-5 still. the pats are going to go for the perfect seaons and bill iosnt resting any players not even brady or moss. see what happened with the colts 2 years ago? they are 13-0 they start resting guys... they lose 2 of the last 3 games. then in the playoffs their stars are all rusty and what happens they have pittsburgh between the wall/knife and they give them a direct path to the superbowl.

Lets go dolphins. I am a Steeler fan and hate the patriots allmost as much as the Browns. How funny would it be if the dolphins beat the pats on a last second field goal?

I think that another Super Bowl is their goal, not a perfect season.
Even Belichick said that he does not care about the perfect season. So probably he will play his starters one half and then rest them.
