about 2 weeks ago and name the baby Achilles after that character in the movie Troy.
I told her it was a "cute" name. but i totally hate it.
she should of really just name him Troy dont you think?

Yes, if she wants him to be named after that movie, Troy is a much better name for a boy in society. If she really has her heart set on Achilles, make it the middle name.

Well hopefully a nice nickname could be substituted for Achilles. Atleast it sounds strong and mighty. But those kind of names need a nick name. Troy is a little plain, but I'd rather be named Troy instead.

That is a STUPID name!!!! It will be soooo hard for others to spell and pronounce!
Troy would have been a better choice.
Edit: You're kinda to blame for that child being punished with that name. You should have told your friend the truth.

I agree that Troy is much nicer to the child. I would not want to name my kid Achilles. But no offense, I would not want to name my child Aliyah either. So, yes I agree with you, but tastes are all different and she likes that name.

Achilles is cool but maybe for a dog or a pet rat but not a little boy. I guess it could be worse though.

yeah, I agree with you! You probably didn't wanna hurt her feeling and yet you hoped she would name him Troy instead! To late now...just hope he likes his name or call him by a nickname, about all you can do!
