We enjoy food, festivities, family, and pagan rituals, just as you do.
It has absolutely nothing to do with our non-belief in invisible spirit gods.
And December 25th is NOT the day Jesus was born. You should do some research, sweetie.

Christmas is just a good time for the economy. In the bible it never says anything about on December 25 jesus was born. But Christians choose this day to celebrate. and since basically the whole USA shuts down for Christmas you don't have to be Christian to celebrate it. I think most asthist just hang out with their family and give people presents. (with out the religious aspect)

I am an Atheist. I don't worship the devil, I don't wear all black and I am not depressed. I don't believe in God because of a personal choice I have made in my life, and I don't make fun of people who do believe in God, and I don't try to talk them out of their beliefs either (actually I avoid the subject all together). My mother and father are not religious but they do believe in a higher being. I don't believe in religion or the establishments of "God". I do not feel like I am missing out on anything. I look at life as "the glass is half full, not half empty". I do celebrate Christmas, but not because of the rebirth of Jesus. Christmas to me is a time of year that I surround myself with my family and friends. It is not all about gift giving, but it is fun to go out and pick out something nice that you know your loved one will cherish. Christmas is not just "another day", it is a day off work to spend much needed time with the one's you love. Eat great food and just catch up with everyone. Why should I board myself up in my home just because I am not Christian?

I think that most atheists do believe in some higher power, some actually belive in God himself.
But there are some many lies, and things that mislead, they dont want to believe. And that is something that is very hard about the world now.
Merry Christmas to you as well.
God Bless

Actually, Christ wasn't born in December. The early Christians co-opted the ancient pagan festival Yule (the winter solstice) for "Christ's Mass."
Besides, it's a cultural event at this point in addition to a Christian religious one. Think of the number of Jews who have Christmas trees.

An atheist would probably focus more on the family-side of the holiday rather than the religious aspects. I had a professor once in college who was atheist and she simply spent the day with family and friends, much like, say, Thanksgiving, only with the giving of gifts. However, there was no religious (Christian or otherwise) slant to their celebration.

Thats a good question.
I think because they dont really know all their facts about Christmas.
And because they just want presents...knowing that Christmas is "fun."
Most REAL atheists dont celebrate it.
but people that pose...do
