merchandising and marketing my chum.. is solid... do this... walk around aim... it fairly is setup so as that the property you like is interior the far corners of the shop. The property you do no longer want would be prematurely and close. This is going for extremely almost any shop. Being i labored at aim. i could desire to sell you something you will not purchase purely because of the fact I positioned it interior the front of the shop. I additionally found out a good number of people nevertheless it replaced into on sale too.

1. If you are sick, then you have to walk past other items that you may need, such as tissues, cough drops, and over-the-counter medicines. You will be more likely to impulse buy.
2. The drugs in the pharmacy include controlled substances. It is more difficult to steal when you have to navigate thru the entire store to leave.

Not all are at the back but they do need their own station, so I guess its easier. As for cigs, people have to ask the cashier for them so it would be stupid to make them leave the register to go all the way to the back of the store. They can also keep a better eye on them so people aren't stealing, especially under age kids.

One reason is because the medicines and prescriptions take up a lot more space and need to be in a more controlled environment - also, some medicines need to be kept cold or in certain conditions.

so people will see something else to buy like department stores have cosmetics in front so when you go get a new jeans you will "remember" to get some new makeup or cologne. It's annoying though!

same reason candy is by the checkout and milk is in the back of the store. Most people buy milk, so they have to walk past many other items to get to it.
