I think they will win the Central and advance to the league championship. It's going to hard for any NL team to beat the AL champ. (Most likely Boston or Detroit)

Jack was better because of all the different sports he did. Overall he was better at calling a game. Harry was only better at being "fan friendly".

The Cubs didn't do anything to improve themselves this offseason.Their weakness is still their pitching .Zambrano is as inconsistent as they come.I'd hate to have to depend on him to win a big game.Ted Lilly had a good year last year but was it his "career"year? After all,he was a .500 pitcher before that.Jason Marquis?Cub fans now know why the Cardinals gave up on him.Rich Hill doesn't scream Cy Young, either. And the bullpen?Kerry Wood as a closer?Sure thing.Carlos Marmol faded after a great start. Will Howry be the pitcher of the first half or second-half?
As far as announcers go I liked Jack Brickhouse. He was a fan without being a slobbering buffoon. He was as good as they came. The Harrry CARAY who did the White Sox games was a better announcer than the one who did Cubs games. He was still in control of his mind and could be critical when needed, but yet call a great game. The Harry CARAY who did the Cubs games was an a*s*s*-kissing clown for the ownership of the team.Steve Stone was the best announcer in that booth and one of the best analysts in the business. But none of these announcers ever won a single game or even a championship for the Cubs. The Cubs have been poorly run as a baseball team for too many years and I don't see 2008 being much different.

No I don't think this will be the year for Chicago Cubs. I grew up when Harry Caray was broadcasting Chicago Cubs baseball games on TV. So Jack Brickhouse was calling games for the Chicago Cubs before my time. But it would be great if Pat Hughes puts out a cd for Jack Brickhouse, like he did with Harry Caray.

I really hope it is our time its 100 years if we dont do it this year! i think we are going to improve but i am hesitant on that because we do not have a proven center fielder. The pitching staff will be back in full force. We just need to stay healthy throughout the entire year. BIG Z, Lilly, Hill, Marquis, Marshall, and my buddy Ryan O' Mally will hopefully make the roster this year. Debut August 2006 agianst the Houston Astros. With the signing of Fukudome we ad a good left handed hitter that will most likely hit behind ramirez in the 5 hole and hopefully stike out a lot less the Jones. We just need to stay healthy and we have the best team in the N.L.

I loved Harrey but i think steve stone was the best we ever had at actually calling the game and we fired him because he was critical of the ownership. He was right in saying that the ownership was failing the team and more importantly the city of chicago.
