I live in South Africa which is now one of the Worlds most dangerous countries from a crime perspective. Sadly the crime is brutal (they threatened to put my friends baby in the oven if she did not co-operate) and our lives are filled with stories of 18month babies being raped, people being murdered for a cell phone, etc. My 14 yr old sister is constantly scared that something might happen to her and its getting to the point where its always on her mind.
What can u honestly say to her to make her stop all this worrying? Honestly, I think she is robbing herself of her happiness.

If it is really as bad as you say, then the only real answer is to convince your family to " vote with your feet " . You may have to move to a safer country. What country can you realistically move to? You need to research it, talk with your parents, start saving money, start planning and cutting expenses.

It sounds like just not worrying about it may not be the answer. But , you need to talk with a preacher or priest , or a school teacher, or a good friend.

I just met a Bosnian family who decided to move to England, Australia or USA, to get away from the violence in Bosnia. They chose the USA. It is taking them some time to get used to the move, the customs, to speak English. But, they are glad that they made the move.

I am sorry to hear that it is so bad over there. In the United States there is alot of crime everywhere you go. We dont put babies in ovens, but we have rapists from all walks of life. My suggestion to you is put it in Gods hands. Pray for the crimes being committed and the people causing them to stop. I know what it is like to walk around watching your back all the time and the Lord took away alot of that grief.

this is a serious situation and my best advice would be to get to america. It's a big country with a lot less crime spree. Get her into an activity that will keep the crimes off of her mind.

the best advise i can give u is something i say often, "let go and let GOD." i know the situation seems crazy and impossible, but with GOD in your life you will not have to worry about anything, all u have to do is open your heart to him and let him in, he will take care of the rest. You say that your worried that she robbing her self of happiness, did you know that Jesus is the center of all joy. no mater what you go through he will have your back till the very end. there is nothing impossible for him. so my solution for this is JESUS, he loves you and your sister now and forever.
