I think its ridiculous. In the UK the word ****** usually means a meat product, its hardly ever used here as a derogatory 'gay' term.
Besides, the song is a classic, and should not be messed around with just because of political correctness. Its like removing the word 'gay' from all pre-1960's literature.
In my experience, gays have more important things to worry about than a harmless song.
