I went through the exact same thing earlier this year. I found the more periods I missed, the more paniced I got. Since me and my fiance aren't trying for kids yet I went through a million tests, all negative.
I was eventually diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome after getting the courage to go to my new doc and get it sorted out, after she sent me for blood tests to check my hormone levels.

If this is the same for you (I imagine the blood tests you're getting will check your hormone levels since your periods are irregular at the moment), then your doctor might reccomend various things from loosing a bit of weight (if you're overweight, even a 5% loss in weight can help improve fertility!), to drugs to induce a period to try and get your cycles going again, to fertility drugs if you still have trouble getting pregnant.

If your doc is stubbon and doesn't appear to be helping you, change doctors!! I mentioned my irregular periods to my last doctor at least 10 times over several years. Nothing was done except "Here. The pill will make them regular! Take it." Within 2 weeks of mentioning it to my new doc, I was diagnosed and getting treatment for the side effects of PCOS.

Good luck :)

I wouldn't worry too much, after being on the pill it takes ages for your periods to get back to normal. I know someone that didn't have one for a year after coming off the pill and still gets them very irregularly even now 18 months+ on.

You're going to the doctors soon for blood tests and stuff if anything is wrong it will get picked up. You'll have a hormonal imbalance but I'm sure it can be rectified in time.

After I came off the pill I had no period for over 3 months. Doc's gave me an internal scan and apparently my womb had switched itself off! I had never heard of this before but everything had completely shut down. He gave me tablets which he said would make me come on in a week and just over a week I had my period. Go get the scan done! Only prob is I've had 2 periods since but still waiting for this one and it aint happening :(

Hope all goes well!x

hmm - that's got to be annoying if you're trying to conceive. i don't know if the treatment is still around, but my mum mentioned the other day that in the 70s women who didn't have regular enough periods and were trying to conceive could be given a drug to kick start them a bit - and it worked. why were you on femidom - its a very old pill, and not used very much today. all i can say is maybe try a different doctor - or visit a family planning clinic or gynecologist - someone who might have more expertise in the area. good luck with everything peacex

have you done a test yet?

you have not mentioned if you had had any sexual intercourse, so we could determine if it was unprotected.
