People in my community kill trees to get a better view of the ocean. What chemicals do they use to kill the trees? Someone told me that a copper nail hammered into the tree, will kill it. I would like to know what they do to kill the trees so that I know what to look for. Does anyone know how to kill a tree?

I hope i will never regret i told you,
but the most common way to kill a tree
is the same acid used to unclog sewer
lines. It goes by the name root killer/
sulfuric acid. They pour the acid on the tree base

killing a tree, is a crime against all of us

There are many ways to kill trees:
1. By using weedkiller, drill a hole into trees about 0.5cm in diameter and at least 6 inches deep, fill in the liquid weed killer such as roundup, mosanto or else. In three days you will notice the leaves start turning brown and after 1 month it will have been killed.

2. By peeling of the skin of the trees, slowly the tree will die although much slower than the (1) method. This will cutt of trees from nutrition and water supply from the earth.

3. Burning woods or rubbish at the base of the trees.Still much slower than the (1) method.

How sad to kill a living thing in order to better ones view. Each tree cut/or deliberately killed is a contribution to global warming. How do I know.? I used to be a killer of plants and trees too hard to mow around. Then one day I read The Silent Spring. Now I plant them.
Sorry each person has their own feelings and this question did sadden me. Especially the answers.
This is not meant to be mean spirited, but, rather open the mind to other possibilities for seeing the view.

You can cut the bark around trunk and it will cut off the nutrients to the rest of the tree.
There is a chemical that will deteriorate a stump, I think it contains sulfuric acid, that would do it too, and kill other plants under the tree.

Sounds like the people in your community are the ones to ask. You might also ask them how many times a day they actually look at the view they killed for. I love it when people pay top dollar for a view and then forget to ever look.

Anybody with suggestion on how to rid a neighbor that pounds copper nails in my trees and pours chemicals on them? I don't want to upset the neighborhood or her family, so making it look natural is important. If I drill a hole in her head and pour milk into the hole will that work or is it an old wives tale?
