I named my betta Frankie after Frank Sinatra, cause he's got blue eyes. Yes, a blue eyed fish. I kid you not.

Also, my friend is named Georgia, though I'm not sure if it's for the state or the song Georgia on My Mind. None of her relatives are from Georgia, though, so I don't really know.

I'm pretty sure more of my friends were named after songs, I'm just not sure which friends and which songs.

Unfortunately, I was just named because my mom liked the name. Such a common name, wouldn't you say, Sarah? Though my aunt Kathy sometimes sings an old song to me... Sa-rah, Sa-rah... not the Bob Dylan song, though.

I'm not sure what I want to name my kids when I grow up, though... I'm sure Josephine for my grandmother... maybe I'll name boys after some of my favorite guys in music.

Contrary to popular belief, i was NOT named after Frankie Goes To Hollywood

If I ever have a daughter i want to name her after a Smashing Pumpkins song

My options are..

Annie (Annie-Dog)
Shiela (To Shiela)
Ava (Ava Adore)
June (Bye June)
Daphne (Daphne Descends)
Martha (For Martha)
Jennifer (Jennifer Ever)
Ruby (Thru The Eyes Of Ruby)
Starla (Starla)

I'd probably go for Starla since that's the only song name there that people would know what its a reference to. But then again i don't want my child to get bullied at school, because of having a name like that. So maybe i didnt think this through...

*This answer was an attempt to distract you from the fact that i know no one who named their child after a song.*

Many of my stuffed toys [they're as good as people] are named after bands, albums or songs. The newest addition to the family is a breast cancer campaign teddy bear named Seraphim, after the band Seraphim Shock.

I know a girl called Jazz, named after the album by Queen.

edit; Oh, and not a band but an artist; a girl that used to be in my form class named her newborn brother Omarion.

My best friend's baby sister is called 'Ramona', apparently after The Ramones.. At least that's what her mum says.

And my music teachers name is Cat Stevens! She swears not after anyone else, but it's kind of coincidental..

I just picked out my Christmas gift - two kittens, whom I have named Sufjan (after Sufjan Stevens) and Jónsi (of Sigur Rós).
My friend was named Melissa after that classic rock song, unsure of whom it is by.

Let me ask my friend Beatles or his Father Elvis. Maybe his cousin Beach Boy. He's got a grandson named Backstreet.

My dog, Midnight, is named after Patsy Cline's 'Walkin' After Midnight'.

And then, my father (and multiple other people), have dubbed me 'Lizzy Ramone' (for the obvious reason that I love the Ramones. And they all said I had my bangs cut like Johnny- weird huh?).
