IQ tests test you on learned knowledge. Not to mention there are multiple forms of intelligence not usually tested on a standard IQ test. For example, musical intelligence. If you suck at math, you'll probably do bad on an IQ test...
For example...My college English teacher got a 106 on this IQ test, but had her PhD in English, and was brilliant.

Somewhere around the 145 mark, can't exactly remember but was top 2% of population and qualified me to be a member of MENSA
PS: Anyone saying above 161 is lying as the maximum adult score possible on a CATTEL III B test, which is the most widely used (and produces the highest scores) is 161

Honestly, I don't know exactly, but I took an unofficial practice IQ test at my public library and scored 147, and I can solve a Rubik's cube. In other words, don't come running to me to answer questions about theoretical astrophysics, but I leave my door open to anybody I can help with Sudoku.
I take it the thumbs down are from people who think I'm exaggerating my score. I have a message for those people:
I like Santa. :)

Waiting for the thumbs down because I really don't know. However, I think it must be pretty high because I have 2 university degrees and a post grad in Management.

I had an IQ test on Tickle.com a year ago and it was either 124 or 127. I can't remember exactly.

Last I was tested it was 187.
songwriter123, how is that impossible? If someone ever achieved that rating on an IQ test then achieving it isn't impossible. And I said I was tested as having that IQ, not that it was my IQ (the test was done by a branch of the government). Since I never cared for tests then when I was tested I never tried my best, so 187 is likely lower than it actually is. Whether you like it or not doesn't change anything, though. It still is what it is.
And to that other "genius" who goes on about people stating their IQ scores, the CATTEL III B isn't the only standardized IQ test used nor has it always been in use throughout the lives of the people answering to this question. If they had taken the CATTEL III B and stated they scored higher than 161 then it is true they would be lying. But not everyone here took that test, so stating their score as being higher than 161 isn't necessarily lying on their part since it could be true. Though you don't state that the CATTEL III B is the test everyone is stating their score is from, by not making any distinction you are implying it.

lol funny you ask I just took a free test out of interest from another question, and I did it all, then when it started asking for my details (home address, number etc) I thought " ah well, forget that if I'm gonna be getting junk mail for the rest of my life lol who knows what my IQ is, but hey, I am clever enough to have turned down the site's 'free gifts' lol but minus 100 points for actually being stupid enough to be on here! lol merry Christmas :D x
