Who was your favorite on the show?

It was a great show. Redd Foxx was funny (and very dirty) as a stand-up comedian for years. He was able to get many of his old show business buddies jobs acting on the show. That is why so many of the older guys were such stiffs on the show. They were not actors.
LaWanda Page also did stand-up too. In real life she had one of the dirtiest mouths I have ever heard doing comedy.
She called herself "Peanut Butter Legs".

Sanford & Son was a hoot! They air alot of the old reruns on various channel late at night but I've never seen them run this series, my favorite was the canerous ol man and Freddie Prinze was good also but he needed this type of charactor to play off of & let him have the funny lines. Its ashamed Freddie blew his brains out, he was just so young & his son, freddie Jr.,was only nine months old at the time, but the show was good & there was just no they could replace Fedddie Prinze.

I LOVED that show. Fred Sanford was my favorite character. What was so ironic, on the show, Fred would think he was having a heart attack and hold his chest. When Redd Foxx started a new sitcom, this is exactly what happened to him in real life. He died of a heart attack backstage. May he rest in peace!

Pretty darn funny! My favorite was Esther. Her confrontations with that "old heathen" were hilarious. You could just tell that she couldn't see what her sister Elizabeth saw in Fred Sanford.

Sanford and Son was great. It was funny how he always insulted his sister in law Esther.
