Read the article. Good study! I've experienced it directly myself. Fortunately, I override this, which allows me to approach the prettiest women the other guys are afraid to. It is pleasant.

Skimming through the responses so far, it doesn't appear any (or at least many) have read the article you cited. If the research reflected therein is correct, there would be a correlation between men's being aroused and their value of long term rewards. This makes sense to me. However, if they don't read the article, it may be more difficult to show the connection just from the question as stated. Thanks for including the link; it was an interesting summary of their research.

Interesting study. I'm surprised, though, that women were not affected in the same way. Recent less complicated studies indicate that infants show no genderized difference in choosing the more attractive face. More research is needed to separate acculturated behaviors from genetic behaviors in this matter. In poker, though, this piece of knowledge is useful for me related to prediction of player behaviors. The mere presence of a beautiful AND intelligent woman (beautiful bimbos have no effect) can cause ALL male brain cells to immediately freeze in a near permanent state of malfunction. This feminine-induced mental meltdown leads to brainless babbling, clumsiness, and irrational acts of buffoonery.
In-spite of this disabling mental chaos with its concomitent embarrassing behaviors and physical calamities, we just can't resist the opportunity to be near such incredible creatures.

No, not at all. Beauty is something to; enjoy, feel, appreciate and cherish. Therefore in your best mind there is no room for dumbness, otherwise one will miss the most precious creation of Nature. It is a gift of nature.

Yes, they certainly have. I'd say this could happen with about 1/2 of all men. That's why it's called a "dumbstick."
