What gender is the other twin? Eliza and Elisa are girl's names, while Elijah is definitely a boy's name.
Since they're twins, and likely to be stuck together as a 'set' for most of their lives, she might as well give them their own identities lol. Eliza and Elisa are way too similar for me. Plus, people are probably going to have a hard enough picking them apart (unless they're fraternal, if they're b/g twins or whatever) lol, having nearly the same name won't help.
If the other twin is a girl, what about names that are also pretty and classic, like Eliza: Eliza and Lily, Eliza and Rose, Eliza and Violet, Eliza and Kate, Eliza and Jane, Eliza and Charlotte, Eliza and Rory, Eliza and Gwen, Eliza and Zoe, Eliza and Clare, Eliza and Penelope, Eliza and Annabel, Eliza and Olive, Eliza and Isabel, Eliza and Kiley, Eliza and Lucy, Eliza and Juliet, Eliza and Mathilde, Eliza and Betsy (both nicknames for Elizabeth), Eliza and Bess, Eliza and Annette, Eliza and Sadie, Eliza and Madeline, Eliza and Hailey, Eliza and Sophie, Eliza and Chloe, etc.
I really like the sound of Eliza and Sadie, Eliza and Annabel (double vowel names sound great), Eliza and Violet, Eliza and Lucy, Eliza and Kate, and Eliza and Jane.
If the other is a boy, what about: Eliza and Oliver, Eliza and James, Eliza and Derek, Eliza and Henry, Eliza and Adrian, Eliza and Freddie, Eliza and Guy, Eliza and Graham, Eliza and David, Eliza and Zachary, Eliza and Benjamin, Eliza and Christian, Eliza and Nick, Eliza and Wesley, Eliza and Kale, Eliza and Owen, Eliza and Vance (Van), Eliza and Samuel, Eliza and Caleb, Eliza and Victor, Eliza and Winston (Win), Eliza and Iain, Eliza and Hugo, Eliza and Milo, Eliza and Luke, Eliza and Damien, Eliza and Charles, etc.
I love the sound of Eliza and Oliver (double vowels again), Eliza and Owen, Eliza and Henry, and Eliza and Nicholas.
Good luck and congrats to your friend!!!

It is so confusing to name your children with similar names. I know this from experience. We have in our family (which includes cousins) a Joe, a Joey, a Jodi, a Joan, and I almost named my daughter Joella. (Thankfully I came to my senses.)
I love Elisa or Elise as it has a softer sound than Eliza. For a boy I would choose perhaps Elliot or Erik.
