we decorate the altar all gold and sparkly, and leave offerings there. We fix a bread and soup meal, with pie for desert. I do an outdoor candle lit walk, stopping at points around the yard for contemplation, ending with a 12 minute silent vigil, sitting on the ground in the dark, to commemorate the amount of time it takes the sunlight to reach the earth.

Then, pie.

We don't do gifts and feast for Solstice, it's a bit more sober and contemplative.

A time to meditate on what is, on the struggles and joys of life, and to commit to another trip around the sun.
