It's wise of you to look for other role models.

Irresponsibility took its toll on her... as for Jonathan C who gave an answer: Why should it be a problem to judge? Judging in its self is not wrong and especially when it has to do with a ridiculous 16 year old celebrity doing something irresponsible, it's quite understandable. Second, just because there are many cases like this doesn't mean it's "no big deal". Why don't you try getting in the same position (although in this one, she created the problem herself, so she's the one who's blamable). And to the "cool answers" user..... how is freedom supposed to be a reason for being imprisoned in a life of irresponsible acts? In other words, the Spears sisters' lives?
Anyway, back to your question, Desiree... a word of advice: don't look up to someone if their sister has such big problems!! Okay, all joking aside: look at other people to look up to, including yourself.

Right now there are over one million 11 to 13 year olds that are having babies. Or are already had their baby. This does not include 16 year olds.
The news casters have their head in the sand if they think this is unusual. She is not the only one who is pg., but the news is making it sound as if she is.
She is not "following" in her sister's footsteps. Like most teenagers these days, she had sex. At least her sister waited until she was 21 and then she even got married.

My wife was pregnant at 15 and had her baby at 16. By the time my wife was 40, the children were out of the house and on their own. I have a different opinion of teen pregnancies after knowing her story.
I'm not saying that's the best, of course. But waiting too long to have a baby presents its own problems.
Give the girl a break. She made a mistake and now has to live with it. She is lucky that she is rich and can afford not to have to struggle financially. My wife married the father of her baby and he went into the Air Force and had a good career, and retired after 20 years with a good pension.

She either wanted the publicity, or made a dumb mistake. People have "accidents" all the time.
Do yourself a favor and stop looking up to celebrities. They are famous, and that is all. Being famous does not make you a good leader, or a role model. Choose someone who actually has done something other than have makeup put on by a professional and read froma script on TV. How about looking up to someone who helps people or makes the world a better place?

It probably wasn't her intention to get pregnant, so following in her sister's footsteps probably never entered her mind. She was not a hero when you used to look up to her, and she is definitely not a nobody now. She's just a person who got caught up in a situation (like people often do) and now she has hard choices to make as a result. And like young people (and ALL people everywhere), she deserves our prayers and support. Try not to judge too harshly until you've walked a mile or two in her shoes. Happy Holidays.

Shes not following in anyones footsteps.
She made her own msitakes.
If you kill someone, and I go and kill someone right after you,me saying "Well, she killed someone first, and Im just going by the example she set for me" isnt going to make me killing anyone ok.
Just like with Jamie and Britney.
Britney got pregnant, and shes not exactly on the right track.
But Jamie cant[and neither can you] say that Britneys to blame.
Maybe,JUST MAYBE,she would have seen how bad Britneys turned out and she would have decided to take the other path.
Britneys not to blame.
AT ALL.

I don't think she got pregnant because she wanted to have a baby, more or less follow her sister's footsteps.
At least she's taking some sort of responsibility.
"I definitely don't think it's something you should do; it's better to wait. But I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in."

I know that birth control is very available - especially to someone of her means... but even for rich people it fails, they forget to take it, or "It can't happen to me". Sometimes babies just happen. *shrug* I was a very young mom too... and the test will be IF she can care for her child better than her sister, or even her mother did.

She is following whatever the people are doing. She is a follower now not a leader. I guess she saw everybody else was getting pregnant so she decided to do it too. I looked up to her too, but not anymore.

I agree.. I don't understand why the media is making a huge deal out of it. What she's done is stupid. And kids shouldn't be looking up to her... did you hear that Nickelodeon might make a teen pregnancy special out of this??? That's ridiculous.
