Oh yes, of course. I was just reminded of that song, "Rock and Roll is here to stay". And there are times when I hear
certain songs that played during some special times for me.
And I never fail to go back in time, to that particular scenario
when that song played and special someones' were there to
enjoy that particular song with me. Or hearing a few that
just were popular in those particular times that make me re-
flect back to the better ones, when there wasn't a care in the
world. Only feeling good, and wanting those moments to last.
But looking back over the years, those times were so fleeting.
And yet, they were the happiest ever in my entire life. It
doesn't seem to matter that there were some happy times
since. The births of two children, and then grandchildren.
My wedding day too. But when I was young and worry free,
I only had my wants and needs to consider for the most part.
As an adult there were worries attached to every happiness
I experienced. So they weren't care free. So often I wish I
were back in my parents house again, and I only had good
grades to worry about, and whether my boyfriend's would
be on time. Or whether I had something nice to wear for the
dates. I didn't have to worry where my next meal or meals
would be coming from. Whether I'd have heat or electricity.
Rock and Roll music kept me feeling secure in my gener-
ation. And so when I hear the music now, it automatically
makes me smile. And I hope everyone I used to know will
react the same way. Thinking back to when life was young,
and fairly innocent of what it would mean to be an adult
one day. For we already felt so grown up, as we'd left our
stage of childhood, hadn't we? Now it was just the good
times, and how we wanted them to remain, just the way
they were. Yes, Rock and Roll was there to
stay. Living on and on within our hearts, forever more!

for sure! I can not only think of that "someone special" but I remember where we were when we heard it together. Its been 50 yrs when some of the songs were popular, one that sticks out was Love Letters in the Sand by Pat Boone. I was on the beach in late evening on a date with HIM and the waves were rolling in and we had a portable radio and that song played and HE wrote I love you in the sand. I still can picture him the way he and I were and miss them. HE was not the man I married.

Like ndnqah old songs are like a diary to me. The first one that really stands out boyfriend wise is "I will follow him" which has for the chorus "I Love him, I Love him,. I Love him" it reminds me of my second grade boyfriend Bobby-my younger sister and I would lay in our bunk beds and talk about him and sing that song.

"Turn around look at me" was the song that played constantly when I dated my 1st husband and my childrens dad.

Hang on Sloopy was playing when I went out with "Norman" in high school.

"Puff the magic dragon" was playing on the car radio when I went out on a date with this guy, We were on our way to Universityof Miami coffee house to see Peter Paul and Mary. Unfortunately, I thought he was getting fresh when I felt his fingers going up my skirt. It turned out NOT to be him, but a huge palmetto bug (giant cockroach) crawling up my skirt. I had to get out of the car and call my dad to pick me up, never saw Peter Paul and Mary. I never got back into his car again. The nickname of his car was was the "green garbage can", it was a Ford Falcon.....
