I'm trying to convince my dad to buy me a laptop, but he keeps asking me, "Why do you think you need a laptop?" and I need some help answering that question.

1. If you had your own laptop you could really work on school projects which are now requiring more and more typed assignments and internet research.
2. If you had your own laptop you wouldn't have to bug your parents/siblings to use their computer and also the chance your parent's computer crashing goes down since you would have your own computer to use.
3. Computer skills are very important and with your own computer you could develop knowledge of using a computer that you couldn't without having the experience of having your own computer.
4. You would gain responsibility from having an item that was yours and you would learn the value of things.
A good strategy is to bug your parents for something insane then ask for the computer which will seem reasonable.
Insane things to beg for:
1. a tattoo 2. a belly button piercing ( or worse) 3. a motorcycle 4. to get married 5. explosives/fireworks (the illegal kind) 6. a rifle or a gun

He wants to make sure why he should buy you the lap top.He is also make sure that you are not going to do nothing wrong with it.
Just tell him that you want a laptop so you can go places that have Internet access and be able to log in and get you e-mails.
Tell him that you would be using the lap top for school work
and home work.Also with a lap top that you could work on projects with out bothering other people for a computer.
I am sorry that i could not give you more because i have been there and done that.When i bought my first desk top computer my dad done same thing.He ask me same question.and i did not have an answer for ether.Then i save my money and went out bought on.So you can think about what i say and go on from there.I hope that you get on and have fun with it.
P.S.Here is something funny had happen to me.When i got my first computer my mom went to check my e-mails.She open a e-mail she got a computer virus onto my computer.

Well depending on how old you are you can tell him that you need it for school. Laptops come in really handy when you are in college.
