She was talking on the phone to the botanist you were going to bring in a few days back to deal with the green scum in there. That's what she was referring to. You're safe.

First question - Who was she talking to? Second - why don't you ask. What scum were you referring to, The bathroom looks pretty clean to me. OF course the time to ask that one was immediately you came out.
Are you having trouble with the wife? Arguements, discord? Any possibility of an affair. Was she talking to a friend ont he phone? What were the real and absolute circumstances of the conversation. That should give a clue.
Scum can be in the shower, tub, sink, toilet... Women will see dirt where guys will stand on it and never notice.
To get the real answer you have to ask some very delicate questions.

Likely not. My wife is always pushing me to wipe down the shower each time I use it to make it easier to clean. On the other hand she may have a good sense of humor. Try it on her.

I would suggest that you calmly ask her if she could repeat herself and then double-check that you heard exactly what she said about the "scum". If she repeats herself in the same way, I would tell her that you will clean it if she shows you where it is. That will hopefully clear up some of your concern(s) about her statement.

I am a wife that speaks along the same terms, and it may look clean to u, but it really isnt! its not you, she hates her bathroom!

Ask her. Does she normally refer to you in bad terms? If so, then probably. If not, then she was probably refering to the tile.

she probably meant the tile if you two were the only ppl in the house
