If he existed, then he would have looked middle eastern, just like the people Americans hate so much and call "terrorists" and "evil doers"

The Devil or Lucifer sinned by replacing his devotion for God into vanity and pride, what a coincidence, most Americans are also obsessed with vanity. looks and pride, arrogance.

Actually, Jesus was a Palestinian by birth and Jew by religion (islam did not exist at the time, so Palestinians were Jews).

To imagine what an older Jesus would look like, take Yasser Arafat and replace the head cloth by a halo.

Lucifer was not (originally) the devil. In Babylonian culture, he was the "bringer of light". The name was given to the morning apparitions of Venus (the bright star that announced the coming of the Sun).

Faesson: Yes there are in fact many Jesuses (or Jesi? it feels very strange to try and use this word in the plural). I am even more amazed by the representation of Mary as a mature white woman (Mary was 12 -- 13 tops -- when she had Jesus).

However, white blue-eyed Americans are not the only ones to imagine a Jesus that looks like them. I have seen many examples of "adapted Jesus" throughout the world.

Dutch painters of the 17th century certainly did a lot to make the whole family look North-European.
Check out ""Adoration of the Shepherds" by Gerard van Honthorst: even the shepherds look like old (and famous) Dutchmen from Utrecht.

In North American small towns, the local artist would often (be forced to?) use the wife of the patron -- the local rich guy paying for the nativity scene -- as the model for Mary.

Jesus was really from the Middle East and we know that. Sometimes artists paint Jesus to connect with the culture that they are trying to sell to.

I have seen many pictures of a black Jesus.

What about Santa? They are white and black, too.

PS>>>I am not obsessed with vanity. I am obsessed with Jesus of Nazareth who spoke Aramaic.

thought he was brown eyed. and people are dumb. they'll believe almost anything. look at all the scientologists that happen to exist. full membership into their organization is $30,000 and people still pay it. so why not believe in a white jesus? humans in general are obsessed with looks. that's why we have dress codes and fashion. while some things may be beautiful, it tends to eat at us.

It is not only America that has painting of Jesus with blonde hair and blue eyes.
It is the interpatation of the artist who made the painting.
I know that he was a Jewish man who had dark hair eyes and coloring. It doesn't matter what he looked like, it is what he stood for that matters.Love......

I don't think Jesus looks like this. I think he looks exactly how you described him...as Middle Eastern. There's mention in the bible of his hair being like "lambs wool." To me, that signifies black hair (sorry--not meant to offend). I'd say jesus definitely didn't look Norwegian. LOL
