You hate leaving that person
You think of little else
You tingle all over when with him/her (or even when thinking of him/her)
You want to do all sorts of things together
You want to be in constant communication with that person
It becomes difficult to focus on other people and things
And...so much more. Love is beautiful.

LOL.... I like the fact that you use the word.. Symptoms, like it's a disease. If your talking about sweaty palms, nervousness, a feeling of agression, constant meditation on a person these change from person to person.
First off there are different forms of "falling in Love"...
1. Sexual attraction... This means you find someone physically attractive and your gentic programming is telling you this would be a good person to procreate with. This aspect should be present.
2. Infatuation... this is when you like someone because they reperesent somthing to you. An excellent teacher, the perfect girl, an amazing athlete. Usually this means your atracted to an individual not because of who they are but because of what they mean to you. As you grow as a person you will often grow out of this kind of "Love".
3. Emotional bonding... When you spend time with someone and grow closer to them this will usually replace either of the first two types of love. At a certain point you want to be with the person no matter what happens to them. If they were horribly disfigured or mentally damaged in an accident you would still be there for them forever.
4. Expected... Some times life puts in a position where we think we are supposed to love someone so we force ourselves to. You feel like you have so much in common, like maybe a baby in the extreme case, so you force things to happen that really arn't there. Maybe the romance has left the relationship, or everyone keeps telling you that you would make the perfect couple.
Realistically all four of these Symptoms should be present. Think about the kind of relationship you have and what you want it to grow into. Create the symptoms you want.

You swoon in their presence, the very thought of them quickens your pulse, the world suddenly becomes perfect, songs take on a deep meaning, you are high, blissful, shaky, dreamy, you can find little wrong with anything much, enjoy the euphoria, the passion, the peace. I hope the state of being in love remains for as long as you desire it to...life seems rather empty and meaningless post this period....Life is for the living, and to live is to love...for it is when we love that we truly live...blah blah...utterly tired..be loved....

Think it's different for everyone, but not being able to stop thinking about them even when really you should be concentrating on other things. Wanting to tell the world about this, being ultra happy and just generally getting a buzzing feeling everytime you think about them.
