You need a license? Dude, I can almost understand ( even if I disagree ) with a gun license, but a chainsaw license?
What next? A hammer license?

I wouldn't recommend using it without reading the instructions first, but you don't need a liscence to buy or use a chainsaw. You should have consent of the owner to cut down the trees if they belong to someone else.

No one needs to escort you out of the store like buying guns or ammunition.

Your question does not make sense. Do you mean in Ontario?

Also, I don't know of anywhere in the U.S. that requires a chainsaw license.
