Right i work full time as an assistant manager have done for 2 years .. and i needed some extra cash over christmas so got a job in a place a used to waitress at .. well basically there was no written agreement as to how much i would get paid but he said 5.75 an hour .. So i worked there one day it was fine and then the second day i worked there the chef and head waitress where extremely spiteful to me an made another girl cry im a 19 and really mature and they constantly took the piss out of me all night slagged me off behind my back an were just generally nasty people .. so i went in on the third day hoping it would be diffrent told my boss about it an he said he had noticed it too .. so i said to be honest i cant work any more if im going to get treated like this im not a little girl an even if i was my parents would never treat me that way .. so he was nice said thats fine an to come get my wages on the friday .. so i went in an he told he was rly blunt with me and said im giving

4 pounds an hour for my work as i quit .. so obviously i questioned him and he turned around an said well you kids these days cant keep a job for more than 2 minutes so its ur own fault .. is this out of order or what???

ok i forgot to mention that when under stress i constantly vomit and my body handles it very badly ... i should of handed in my notice but not only was this bad but i did say to him do u want me to work my notice .. plus it was only when they needed me that i worked i had no permanent shifts or hours!!

ok but is it right for them to only pay me 4 pounds an hour??? we had a verbal agreement that he would pay me 5.75 an hour cash in hand

You need a record of your situation, so you need to send a letter to the manager stating that you and he had a verbal agreement for 5.75 an hour at the time you accepted the position, and that there was no discussion about the amount being tied to length of stay at the job. Request your payment in the full amount for the hours you worked, and state that you will consider other action if you do not receive payment within a specified period of time.

You did things quiet early. Complaining to your boss was the right thing but you should have worked for more time coz those who were making bad thought might have changed their point of view about your work or boss might have took steps.. but due to your hurried manner you had yourself suffered in the end.

So my advice for you is to before taking any step just give those poor people another chance.
