I feel so bad!?!?

Question

For my bf's B-day i gave him 20 bucks because
i couldn't give him anything because
the roads were icy.I was going to give a skateboard but i couldn't.
Todays my friends b-day party
and i just got her a gift card.
I feel bad
because
i can't them real gifts.
I am a good friend and a gf,
but i still feel bad.
Do you think that i have a reason to?

By today's materialistic standards everyone has cause to feel inadequate from time to time (especially around holidays). But it's important to remember that people have not always had the disposable income to celebrate lavishly as we do today...this fact spoils us a bit, and obscures the real meaning of the season anyway...to think selflessly of others, to be thankful for what we've received, and to give of ourselves as it has been given to us. Your gifts satisfy the spirit of this intent...there is no reason to feel badly about that. Merry Christmas.

You know in your hearts of hearts that if you could have gotten out, you would have gotten them something different.

Surely, they'll understand this.
