I recently got two orange mollies (male & female) and they have always spent time together among the other fish. Two days ago or so, i noticed the female start staying inside of a rock more often. i thought she may be hiding, but the male tends to go in there too and just hide. once in a while, he'll come out, but only briefly. they are both in there now, and won't come out. i noticed her underbelly is lighter in color, and it's bigger. could she be pregnant?

well, it definately sounds like she's pregnant
however i would buy another female that he doesn't stress her out to much and get her to aport the fry
I would also stay away from these breeder nets or boxes, it will only stress her out for nothing and cause her to aport as well
get instead breeding grass and lots of other plants for the fry to hide

Hope that helps
good luck

Sounds like it to me. If you want to keep the babies you'll need a special tank that floats inside of your regular tank. Otherwise they'll be food for all the other fish, including papa. But if you have the floating tank they'll be safe. It's cool to watch them being born too. Mollies bear their young live. There's no eggs to be laid, just lots and lots of tiny baby fish. I use to sell mine back to the fish store, or usually trade a bunch for a new fish for my tank.

She probably is pregnant, but she'll also be trying to get away from the male. Get another female to divert the male's attention so that the poor girl can get some peace, lol.
