BEING POOR IS USUALLY A STATE OF MIND NOT LACK OF MONEY. IF YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE, IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH YOUR LIFE AND THE LITTLE THINGS MAKE YOU HAPPY THEN YOU ARE RICH BEYOND WORDS.
ARE YOU WTHOUT PAIN? DO YOU HAVE PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT YOU? CAN YOU APPRECIATE A BEAUTIFUL FLOWER, HEAR A BABY GIGGLE, SEE A WONDERFUL SUNSET? I TRY EACH DAY TO STOP AND MAKE A MEMORY OF SOMETHING WONDERFUL TO CARRY WITH ME THROUGH LIFE

I'M NOT SURE IF I ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION OR NOT BUT THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT MAKE ME FEEL THAT I AM NOT POOR. WITHOUT THIS PHILOSOPHY I WOULD BE TRULY POOR.

I usually poor my milk because its good with cookies! Ok, just kidding! I am not poor, neither are you, nor is anyone that lives in the U.S. If your comparing apples to oranges, that is!
What makes one poor is being unfortunate enough to be born in another country that we hear so much about on the tube!Sorry, but thats the way I feel.

I think being poor, in the classical sense, means not having the money to care for yourself and your dependents. There are a million "reasons" for being poor, but there are also a million examples of people who broke out of the vicious cycle of poverty.

hmm...
well you already pointed to the obvious one but it really depends in what context you are talking about...

if you talk about morals, ideals and class, even people with a lot of money can be poor in that sense...

you can also be poor at doing something, such as drawing, writing, cooking, etc.

as far as economic status is concerned, to me, poor is abject poverty (meaning little food, water, shelter, clothing, etc.) if you are able to provide for the basic necessities in life then you are not really poor...you are just not as rich as someone else...

if youre on about me drectly the cause for my poverty is being a student. other reasons vary : drugs, alcoholism, shopping addictions. basically anything that makes your outflow as much/ equal to/slightly more than your income

then there are the things that keep you in poverty (keep your income low). poor education, cycle of poverty, poor economy(lack of work etc), hving spent time in prison

being grumpy and angry all the time - poor in spirit
not exercising or eating way too much - poor in shape
doing drugs- poor in health

etc. people can be poor in anything and they can also be rich in everything. THE CHOICE IS OURS
