I don't want to sound like a big meanie, but there are a lot of Braden, Caden, Jaden, Aiden, Hayden, names that are popular now. I don't like it only because there are a million kids out there with those names.

I like the name, but be aware of naming trends. The "en" names are very popular right now, so your son won't stand out from the crowd. Totally a preference thing, but I think steering clear of naming you kids the most popular names is best. He will definitely not be the only Brayden.

You obviously need to check name popularities. Every other kid in this country is named Aiden/Brayden/Caiden/Hayden/Peyton or some bizarre spelling like Caaydenn or Paytienne and their kids will all be confused in the classroom with their classmates' names. When I hear those names now, I assume the mother was a teen or an uneducated person who didn't realize that one day her baby would become an adult and not want a cutesy name anymore.

Brayden was one of my top 5 names!
I liked Brayden, Hayden, Gavin, Riley and Sumner
Great name and remember, the name doesn't make the person, the person makes the name!

It's too common. It was the 2nd most popular boy's name for babies forn in 2007, and the 3rd most popular in 2006, #5 in 2005. I like the name, but unless you don't care if your kid has four other Brayden/Bradens in his class you probably should pick something else.

My name was the most popular girl's name the year I was born and I HATED the confusion caused by always having at least two other people in my class with the same name.

I like the name Brayden. It reminds me of a character on the movie Slap Shot. He was a really good hockey player.

I don't like it- VERY common popular name- it's kinda turing into micheal or smith. I named by girls popular names, except for the last one Mary. I wished I would haved named the others something traditional or family related. Your call- but from experience I would not do it- later on when the fad of this name wears off you will not like it, or when there are 8 of him in his class.

Brayden is a cool name, but I would drop the "Y". It reminds me of the word "bray" which is a sound that farm animals make. I hope I didn't rain on your parade. ;)
