I have a laptop that won't let me download software...?

it keeps telling me that I don't have administrative rights. Is there a way to gain access without using the administrative password?

the settings are set so only can download when lodged in as administrator. so you will need to login under admin. or it wont work. good luck.

Which operation system are you using? If you are using a Windows operating system then, usually, a limited user account can download software but can not install it. However, in many Windows OS versions, an administrator can restrict IE from downloading software. Whatever the case, you can not download without the administrator account password. But, there are ways to recover the password.

If the administrator change your account type to administrator account, you will then be able to download software. It is about the administrator privilege.

there is way...first go to Control Panel and open User Accounts...then Click Home on top left hand corner...you'll see all the accounts in your computer...then click on your account and add your self as Administrator and remove the other person as administrator...that's the easy way...

r u in linux?
if yes then u need to login through administrator


If you r in windows then it s because of Virus. use a good updated version of antivirus. Then this problem will be solved.
