I have tried CTRL ALT Delete but brings up task manager
Tried WinKey+L but switches user

Wondering if its poss.

I use XP and have the normal selection logon

And please dont waste my time with "Windows Key and L" - As it states above...

This is also my home computer

right click on the desktop -> new -> shortcut it will open up a new box, type
"%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation"
without quotes, click next then rename it to whatever u want, ex. LOCK or something then click finish, whenever u click on that it will lock the comp

If your ID doesn't have a password, you can't lock the workstation (since there's no password for unlocking it).

Is this your work computer? The company may have disabled locking the workstation, though I don't know why they would. I'm at home with Vista right now, so I can't tell you where in the security policy to find that setting.

I think all you have to do is press the Windows logo key and L.

if your profile has a password, Win-L should work. it does on my computer.
