The exorcism of Emily Rose is good. The Ring, House on Haunted hill. The sixth Sense is brilliant aswell, if you havent already seen it.

Saw 1,2 3 and 4 (number 4 is not out on dvd yet, these aren't scary as such they are just very very grusome but brilliant)
Hostel 1 and 2 (These are also not scraty but very grusome number 1 is worse than 2)
Black Christmas (This is a good one its new aswell)
See no evil (This is a fantastic film well me and my boyfriend thought it was)
Captivity
Blood Trails
Shrooms (This only out in cinema at the moment)
Paradise Lost
Vacancy (This is also a good one)
When a stranger calls (This one was a jumpy one i was a bit scared lol only cos it could happen)
Silent Hill
Wouldn't recommend the exorcist i thought it was crap. Didn't even scare me.
This is all i can think of at the min (scary ones anyway, these are the most recent ones). I have seen hundreds i rent them form my locoal video shop. I think i have had about 140 dvds out. So trust me when i say they are good lol.

Both of the newer Texas Chain Saw Massacre movies are really scary and gory. The Saw movies are also really good...they're kinda more complex and trivial like but very gory.

The Ring
hmm... can't think of any others off the top of my head, but I usually find movies about ghosts or other uncontrollable situations scarier than typical slasher films.
Whatever you choose to watch, the atmosphere of the room you're watching it in is important. If I watched either of those two movies in the middle of the afternoon they would not scare me...but if I watched them after dark etc. they terrify me!

Depends on what you think of as scary, Hostel doesn't do the job for me because it's just ugly torture that you are expecting. Alien is definitely the scariest film I ever saw.
