Yes! My daughter loves to have us all there. And this Christmas we'll all be together. Even my 90 year old mother-in-law.
Hoping each of you has a lovely Christmas Day.

Not this year. I think Christmas Day will be very quiet for my husband and I this year. The current plan is for my husband, 20 year old daughter (who lives with us), and I to open gifts and then prepare a nice big lunch/dinner.
We'll meet my in-laws for lunch later in the week, we're going to take them to a restaurant at a historic inn on a lake. We'll have a large get-together on Sunday the 30th; 22 of us will meet at my sister in laws house to exchange small gifts, sing carols, play with the kids, and snack on cookies and other goodies.
My oldest daughter can not come home for Christmas this year; she'll be working. We can't go to her either, due to my work.
My parents are leaving this morning to drive the 7 hours to my sister's house. This is the first time in 50 years that my mom will away from home for the entire day on Christmas, and also the first time my sister and her family will be at their home for Christmas in 13 years-they all came to our town to be with family every year. I'm a little sad that I won't be there, but also a little glad to have a quieter Christmas day at my own home. We visited mom and dad Thursday night; carrying dinner and our gifts.....we had fun, but my mom still misses doing everything herself.

Usually we go to our daughters on Christmas eve. But this
year we're going over early on Christmas Day instead. We
haven't been told if we are to stay for dinner, or have another
quick gift opening and be on our merry way home again. We
will have to see what our daughter has to say on that. Our
daughter and family usually goes to her in laws for the later
afternoon and until long after dinner, when gifts have been
exchanged. We'll see how it goes this year, to determine
how we should do things next year. Maybe we should have
left things the way they were. Even tho it was a rush to get
through a celebration on Christmas Eve. We had hoped to
avoid that by going over on Christmas Day. How I'd hoped
to have them come to our house instead. Aren't a parents'
off spring, supposed to go to Grandmas' house on Christmas? Or is that Thanksgiving, and "over the river and
through the woods, to Grandmothers' house we go?"

yes my oldest son and family lives in Sacramento, about a 3 hr drive from me..We will go up Mon and home Wed. Our youngest son will go up and back on Christmas day, his 20 year old son will have Christmas with his girlfriends family as they are home from different colleges and see as much of each other as they can during vacations..I fully understand, as 52 years ago my husband and I did the same thing..we thought vacations would never come, and then they flew by so fast..

No, however, all my children their spouses and children will be at our home Christmas day. We are very fortunate to have all three of our kids and their family live in the same city that we do. We are truly blessed.

my children are far away. so, no, i won't be going there.. Just as well too, we tend to celebrate holidays with a good old fashioned family argument that usually ends up with me going home early and feeling rather down. But the wonderful guy i am seeing has a son who lives nearby. We are going to his home for Christmas. It's full of family and friends and with everyone being so busy, there is not much time for confrontation. I'm looking forward to it!!

Our big get-together is this weekend at my house. Christmas day I will go to my son's house. It is just him and his teenage daughter. My son has tried hard to make this a special Christmas for her. I can't wait to see her open her gifts. I am sure we will have a great dinner since my son is an excellent cook. We will probably play a game or two after dinner and just relax and visit.

No. our daughter and grandchildren live in another state. We usually gofor New Years. This year that is out. They are going to be moving and the company is flying them to look at houses that week. Oh well we will get there eventually or they will get here. We will be constantly on the phone or online. Not the same but better than nothing.
