What is a good adheasive to use when sticking rubber matting to wood?

Size of project is 13 inches by 9 inches.

3m contact cement... follow the instructions on the tube

Answer number one offers a valid suggestion, especially given the small size of the project. You might even find it in a 1/2 pint size? I'd probably use water based contact, as I do with flooring, etc, but the lacquer based is as effective. Use a throw away brush and allowing the reccomended dry time.

Not meaning to ramble but, dance flooring MARLEY is applied often with an adhesive specific for the purpose of Rubber to Wood adhesion.
