Should I use a jar of mincemeat dated Apr 2005 to make mince pies? I think yes but will we get the s*its when I invite them over for mull wine and m/pies?

If the top of the jar is bulging up the answer is yes - it is filled with bacteria. If not see if it has a funny smell.
You are going to cook the heck out of it so there probably is not much risk. If you are concerned, buy another one and dump the old one.

Who the hell eats mincemeat? What the hell is mincemeat? Why would you use mince"meat" in a pie? Don't you have apples or pumpkin where you live?
