I like the original Madison, then again, I like Madisyn (same spelling as my goddaughter!) she's 8 and the only flaw to her name, is that everyone spells her name wrong constantly, and she glares at the paper when it's spelt wrong (it's kinda funny, but not in her shoes)
I'd go with the orginal spelling, after all, either way, she might be called Madi in school w/ whatever spelling!

I *like* it spelled properly -- Madison.
Not only do the others completely negate the name's actual origins (though I realize that's what some trendy bandwagon parents wanting to "feminize" the already-overused masculine name want, it's still an odd practice), but also the pronunciation. Even unfortunately-common Madisyn -- complete with predictable Y substitution -- would be said MAD-i-sin, not MAD-i-sun (as intended). Too subtle? The Y in Madysin/Madysyn/Madysen, etc. would appear to change it to MAYD-i-sun (or -sin/sen, as it happens), according to the rules of grammar, or at best, MAD-ee-sun (-sin/sen), since many spell the common short form MAD-ee exactly this way ... Mady, rather than Maddy/Maddie.
Basically the epitome of lower-class ignorance, since the name is now misspelled and unnecessarily confusing -- ensuring spelling and even pronunciation corrections throughout the poor child's life -- but also no less trendy and common. No matter how poorly you spell it, it's still the third most popular name in the nation. Only she'll appear illiterate and lower-class next to the dozens of other little Madisons she knows throughout her life. Shame.
Ps. Of course Madison "seems masculine" to you! It is! LOL The name literally (and quite obviously) means "son of," after all. Short of naming her "Guy" or "Manly," you can't get much more masculine than a "son of" name! ;)
