need to add a plug in cabinet for a new over the range microwave

Being a electrician for years there is aproper way to do this, and if you are not handy with tools or that type of work, i wouldnt do it ,and dont run extenseion cords up walls or behind cabinets from outlets it wont be safe. Just call a electrician and get some ieas from him , 20a circuit would be best, and on its own circuit, with microwave working off a outlet in the kitchen and u use a coffee pot at the same time u will pop a breaker at that time. creating a nuisance all the time. good luck

you will need a 20 amp circuit. you can use 12-2 romex for this. run the romex from the panel to the cabinet above the micro. Use a handybox. you will also need a single pole 20 amp breaker for your panel box

goto the hardware ask for wire moulding, or at a major lumber type store, you can run wires in this, or do you have a plug under the sink for the disposal? run a #12 extension cord up to the cabnits,
